Studio Profile
123buero is a Berlin-based graphic design studio. We work with national and international clients across a divers range of sectors, the main focus being on printed matter, identity programmes, exhibitions and type design. Our approach is defined by research and analytical thinking.
Timo Gaessner, graphic and type designer, founded 123buero after graduating in 2002 from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. In 2010 he established MilieuGrotesque, a Zürich-based type foundry and independent publisher and distributor of typefaces and related publications.
Timo has lectured and held workshops internationally, at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (National School of Fine Arts) in Paris and the Hochschule für Künste (University of the Arts) in Bremen, amongst others. Since summer 2011, he has been a visiting lecturer at the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung (University of Arts and Design) in Karlsruhe, southern Germany.
123buero Typefaces
Our Typefaces ‘Maison’, ‘Chapeau’ and ‘Boutique’ are exclusively available for retail through our type foundry MilieuGrotesque. Other typefaces are exclusively licensed to the referring client and/or project. Our earlier design ‘Naiv’ is available through FontShop International.
