123buero has been commissioned by Frankfurt based Museum Städel, to work on a publication, including a small exhibition for their soon to be finished annex and architectural refurbishments. Reopening is dated to mid November. Further, we’re happy to announce that Timo has been asked to continue his teachings and conduct a type design workshop at HfG Karlsruhe this upcoming winter term.

It’s been already a few weeks ago but still, please check our latest release on MileuGrotesque → Brezel Grotesk, a sans serif typeface inspired by the character of classic nineteen-century Grotesques, completed by the regular, yet organic shape of a Bavarian pretzel.

We are happy to finally pass on some information about the bespoke typeface we designed for SALT. The recently launched, Istanbul based cultural institution explores critical and timely issues in visual and material culture, and cultivates innovative programs for research and experimental thinking. We’re happy to finally have launched Daniel Heer’s website. Note the implementation of our bespoke typeface using WebOpenFontFormat (WOFF), a format to embed individual fonts onto a web page and still having the advantages of a plain HTML text. Besides, Timo has been invited to be a guest critic at the Department Design HAW — Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften in Hamburg, this upcoming Monday.

A.D.Deertz just re-opened their Berlin store on Torstrasse 106 in Berlin Mitte. Check their latest arrivals and additional menswear brands. We are also happy to announce that we are currently working on their new online appearance which will also include an online store and be launched in spring 2011.

We’d like to mention the poster series
‘Esst Obst’ we already made a few months back (and which is already almost sold out) together with Mark Kiesling from doyoureadme!? for the Apartamento Magazine pop up store FoodMarketo.
The handmade serigraphy, based on a common paper-bag you get on a food market in Germany, is elaborately executed in a multi-colored-iris-print. ✔ So far, more to come soon.

2010 not only starts with a relaunch of Thomas Bendels’ website and identity, using Bendel Corporate — an uppercase typeface which later became Maison, our grotesk grid based typeface — we also happily welcome ‘Galerie für Moderne Fotografie’ and ‘Studio Daniel Heer’ to our client list.

Currently we are working on the future positioning and rebranding of the fashion label ADD, which will be redefined to A.D.Deertz with the collection of Fall/ Winter 2009/2010 and will be shift from a unisex concept to an all menswear line. Pass by the new shop (Kastanienalle 58) that just opened and become a fan on Facebook for further information on the labels’ activities.

Finaly, we are able to show some examples of ‘Maison’, our lineale typeface with an industrial bouquet that offers classic grotesque details combined with constructed shapes that are optimized for text and headlines. Maison will be available in an Italic, Proportional-, and Monospaced version—each in three weights: Light, Roman and Bold.

Today is the opening of ‘Fashiontype’, an exhibition held at Klingspor Museum, a museum for Book Art and Typography in Frankfurt. The show is featuring 123sweaters among many other interesting fashion related typedesign projects. Doors open at 19h.

This freshly printed compendium shows the audio-visual work of Berlin based agency flora&faunavisions. It comes in a silkscreened bag and features a double printed Black including a super glossy finish which enhances the reproduction of their video material. We’ve just finished the title and credits design of Jens Schillmoellers’ new short film project ‘bus’ wich is a contribution to a competition initiated by ‘Kulturstiftung des Bundes’ dealing with work in general. The film is selected to join the Berlinale Film Festival — congratulations!

I got asked to design the relaunch and participate in the production of Qvest, a berlin based fashion and lifestyle magazine. Unfortunately, due many different people and positions being involved, production was chaotic and the result is not very convincing. Anyway, here is spread and some more pictures will be posted in the work section soon.
